The motor is a Vanguard 6.5hp attached to a PPF Wood Duck longtail mud motor. It doesn't look like much, but you can plane the boat out with one person and get to about 12-14 MPH when you are light. As it is so small, the motor can also be lifted off by one person, it is held in with a pin.

You'll be impressed. I bought a PPF Wood Duck with the Predator motor for a 12' boat I had. Went to a 1442 and up to a 13hp Beavertail but you can't beat the PPF motor for the price. The workmanship is a good as any large manufacturer.
